Sheila Shea Russo, 85, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2018. Her parents were Claude and Rose Shea. Sheila was a life long resident of Greenwich. She was born in Greenwich Hospital on June 9, 1933. She attended Greenwich High School and was captain of the cheerleader squad. Sheila and Les married in 1953. They met while Les was playing basketball by a team owned and coached by her father Claude Shea.
Sheila had a passion for travel, learning about cultures, enjoying different foods, being with her husband and friends. Therefore she established Empress Travel on Post road. This gave her the opportunity to see the world. She enjoyed photography and loved taking pictures of her children and places she visited. Sheila relished the simple pleasures of life, like riding the Island Beach Ferry, reading a good book, attending her children’s events, cooking for her grandchildren and talking about travel on a local radio show.
Sheila Shea Russo is survived by her four children; Les Russo, Jimmy Russo, Sheila Russo Davidson and Ann Rose Russo Spivey. She also had 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Sheila was preceded in death by her brothers Claude Shea, William Shea and her sister Joan Shea Green.
Sheila will be greatly missed by her family, friends and community.
