Rosemary Bologna (“Babe”) Genovese died peacefully on September 29, 2018 in her home at Hill House, Riverside, Connecticut. Rosemary was born on March 11, 1923 in Greenwich the fourth child ofthe late Nicholas and Mariantonia D’Andrea Bologna. She was predeceased by her husband of49 years Daniel J. Genovese who died in 1993.
In her early life she sang on the radio as well as at numerous dance functions in the area. Her husband Dan was a saxophonist and she a vocalist in his band. For thirty years Rosemary and Dan owned The Village Workshop, a decorating and framing store in North Mianus. Rosemary was a long-time parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church and for many years volunteered at Greenwich Hospital.
She is survived by her son John Genovese Read of Yarmouthport, Massachusetts; grandson Connor John Read cuntntly in Southeast Asia; and siblings Katherine Rich and Vincent Bologna, as well as a sister-in-law Theresa Servidio Bologna, all three ofwhom also reside at Hill House. She is also survived by her devoted niece and her husband, Marianne and Robert Morelli of Stamford as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews many of whom thought ofher as another Grandmother. In addition to her parents and husband, Rosemary was pre-deceased by her brother Anthony Bologna and her sister Theresa Bologna Zadrosny. A mass ofChristian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 4 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Catherine of Siena Church. There are no calling hours.
