Caterina Quaranta, 87, of Rye Brook, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Greenwich Hospital. Born in Mola di Bari, Italy on March 6, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Angela L’Erede. On June 26, 1954, Caterina married Francesco Quaranta. Together they raised their daughter, Franca. Upon immigrating to the United States in 1957, Caterina moved to Brooklyn, NY before making Port Chester, NY her permanent home. Over the years, Caterina worked as a seamstress and was a dedicated wife and mother. True to her selfless nature, Caterina later retired to help raise her two granddaughters, Christina and Diana.
In addition to her parents, Caterina was predeceased by her siblings: Leonardo L’Erede, Maria Armisti, and Vincenza Delvecchio; husband, Francesco Quaranta; and granddaughter, Christina Pelliccia. She is survived by her daughter and granddaughter, Fran Pelliccia (Joseph) and Diana Pelliccia, of Greenwich, CT.
Family and friends are invited to Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich, CT for visitation on Thursday, October 18th from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will by held Friday, October 19th at 10 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church followed by entombment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich.
