Demetrio (Tony) Pellicano was born on March 5, 1923 in Reggio Calabria, Italy and left this earth for his eternal rest on January 19, 2017.
When he was 8 years old, his family immigrated to Montreal, Quebec, Canada where he attended school and served in the Canadian Army during WWII. In 1953 Tony moved to Greenwich, CT after his marriage to his loving wife, Sarah Ambrogio, who predeceased him.
A faithful parishioner of Saint Mary Church, he served as an usher for over 50 years, many of those years as Head Usher. A handy woodworker, he took great pride in maintaining and displaying the life size nativity each year in front of Saint Mary’s rectory. Tony is a Past Great Sachem of the Redman’s Association and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Always quick with a smile and his robust laugh, he was loved by his family and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his brothers, Angelo Pellicano (Lena), of Stamford, CT., Fortunato Pellicano (Sheila) of Hopewell Jct., NY, his companion Lucy Carino and many nieces and nephews. Tony is also predeceased by his parents Angelo and Teresa (Ficara) Pellicano, his brothers Dominic and Joseph Pellicano and his sister Antoinette Pellicano Scafa.
