Margaret “Babe” Azud passed away peacefully on February 7,2018. She was born on February
3, 1921 in Greenwich to the late John and Mary (nee Sipska) Polonetz. Margaret was a graduate of Greenwich High School. She worked as a nursery school teacher for the Family Center and at Byram Archibald Center. She was a member of Mary Mother Guild, Shubert Library, and AARP. She volunteered at Merry Go Round Shop, Nathaniel Witherell Gift Shop, and was a member of
East Port Chester Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. Margaret was a member of St.
Paul Lutheran Church, she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school there. She enjoyed
reading books, crossword puzzles, and traveling. Margaret is predeceased by her husband
Alfred, two brothers John and Paul, and a sister Anne. She is survived by her sons Alfred
“Skip” (Nell) of Greenwich and Richard (Roxanne) of Maine. Also survived by seven Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Rd #3, Greenwich, CT. A service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 286 Delavan Ave., Greenwich, CT. Burial to follow
